Oct. 26th, 2009 11:05 pm Am I getting old???

I was thinking to get hair cut after a shabby piece grew on my head which looked really wired and finally today I got the fresh look. A very unusual thing happened which I never expected so soon. The barber was cutting my hair and suddenly something stuck my eyes. A white hair in the bunch of my hair which got cut. I just picked it up and kept staring it. The barber took the hair from my hand and threw it away saying that it was just a small white hair which he cuts and sees daily, but for me it was THE WHITE HAIR. The imagination of white hair really shook me for a while. Am I getting old, was the first question came to my mind? What if I am getting old, I am young at heart. In another moment, the white hair turned into just another hair. I am still young and will be young forever is the notion which I am carrying today and going to sleep. Good Night :)

Sep. 27th, 2009 03:12 pm Incredible India

My roommate was very excited to go to Mumbai as he was going there first time and yesterday before leaving he was finding all possible ways to know about Mumbai. Probably on the internet he read "Aamchi Mumbai". He asked me what is "Aachmi Mumbai", I prompted, do you what is "Namma Bengaluru" or "Saadi Dilli"? I believe he got the answer. I really wondered, India has so many different languages,  different cultures and that why it is called "Incredible India".

Aug. 21st, 2009 09:27 pm Mom - World's biggest bank

Today while returning from office to home I saw something unusual written at the back of one's bike. It reads "My Mom's gift. Mom - World's biggest bank". It touched my heart.
It seems that the rider would have loved his Mom a lot and the bike was given to him by his Mom. Rider was showing publicly that he loves his Mom a lot and she is the most treasured person. A Mother is just an incredible person. A Mother is really the world's largest bank. According to me the biggest gift one can give to anyone is Love and the same a Mother gives to her children without any repay.
Cheers to MOM!!!

Aug. 6th, 2009 11:15 pm Last day Mail!!!

Yesterday was the last day of colleague "J" in my organization. He was drafting his last day mail at his system and he asked me to sit beside him while he wrote the mail. He wrote " Please send all the future communication mails to Manish as today is my last day in this organization".
There was something which was stuck within me when I saw him writing the mail. How does it feel when one leaves his/her organization?
I asked him the same question. He said "I am well prepared to leave and that's why I do not feel anything". I was really dumbstruck on hearing his answer. One does not feel bad when he/she leaves the organization he/she worked, connects with so many people, learns so many things...
God knows how will I feel when I will leave my current organization. I am sure that that day will not be a good day for me.

Jul. 28th, 2009 07:59 pm Whatever goes, comes around!!!

Today morning when I read the newspaper that the sea spews back in Mumbai, it reminded me of my grandfather’s saying that a sea does not accept anything, the sea spits back whatever is thrown into it, when I was visited Chennai beach with my grandfather a very long time ago. Today, the Arabian Sea has thrown back 6.4 lakh kg of waste such as plastic, thermocol and polythene bags at Mumbai what the city has been throwing into it for so long. The municipal worked day and night for almost 2 days to clean the garbage.

It reflects that we are socially so miserable. Why can’t we have nicer Municipal to dispose the waste and why can’t act as a responsible citizen so that we work out to have better, cleaner and safer place to live?

May. 14th, 2009 09:02 pm Granny says it all

I usually carry my I Pod wherever I travel and especially when I travel 10 kms one way to office everyday. The I pod is very special to me and is one of my life lines. From past 3-4 days I was not finding my pod and hence was a little upset. Today while returning back home, I was on call with one of my friends "S" and told him that I am not finding my I pod. He shared me a little weird idea to find the I Pod. He asked me to hold my left ear with my right hand thumb and first finger. He said he got this direction from his granny and this mode really worked for him. I decided to do same thing today after reaching home and to my utter surprise it really did the magic. I got my life back. Hurrayyyyyyyyyy....:)))
Really whatever old people say, they say for a reason. May be by holding my ears, I am sorry for my mistake and careless and at the end I got my pod back. But whatever it is, I am happy now and thanks to my friend S and his granny.

May. 12th, 2009 08:04 pm First Things First

Today I attended one of the mandatory trainings in my office. I was initially apprehensive about this training, thought it to be same old usual trainings. I chose to attend this training because it was happening in one of my office facilities which is very near to my house. Means, today I did not travel 20 kms up and down to go to my another office facility. :P
Anyway, I was in the training room at right desired time. I will not discuss about the training but from the course name "First Things First" suggested one should prioritize his/her work and the take away from the training was:
Life is very short so LOVE, LIVE, LEARN and LEAVE A LEGACY, and I think that these words make sense. I hope to stick with them.

Apr. 25th, 2009 10:47 am Look alike - not this way

Today I was browsing the newspaper and suddenly one article caught my attention. The title was "Mom goes under knife to be copy of daughter".
It was quiet interesting article. A mom goes under knife, pays around $15,000 and she is confident and very happy that people mistake her to his daughter. She was very depressed and she knew that no cream or nothing could have helped her to gain her youth back so she took this step to look like her daughter and more over work out to look slim. Now, she goes out shopping with her daughter, she giggles around and gets loads of compliments.
I felt some what disgusted. Everybody tries to look good, try their best to not to look old but not this way. Aging is a natural process and one should not try to alter it. If at all one wants to look young, feel the youth, do exercises, be happy, bring happiness to others and then definitely one will be young. Try to be young at heart.

Apr. 20th, 2009 09:06 pm Shake your leg

Today is one of the happiest moments of my life. I can proudly say that our group is the best dancer troupe in my office and I can say that I can also shake my bumps well. :P
The date for the dance competition kept on changing but we did not loose out our momentum and after regression practice for more than 1 month, burning our energy on weekends for 2 hrs and for one 1 hr on weekdays between office timings really made our path to success. Really, HARD WORK PAYS.
Performing in front of about 200 people is not an easy task especially for a beginner like me but still I coped and gave my best. Thanks to my co-dancers V, S, V, A and H and also thanks to my friends H, V and N where were all time encouraging and hooting. The critics after our performance really added few extra pounds in me. :)
Hope that I keep up the tempo and entertain people.

Mar. 30th, 2009 08:33 pm WONDER LA LA LA

The much awaited trip to wonder la finally took place on last Sunday. My college friends and I planned this trip when I was in college but it did not work out for some reasons. Finally I planned this trip with my office friends last Friday but somehow postponed it to Sunday and finally packed our bags on Sunday for much awaited trip.

We started at 8:30 AM thinking that we would reach at around 10:30 AM with taking small stopovers in between our journey to WL. I believe we were too fast on roads. Not to forget “I was riding bike and I LUV SPEED”… :P We reached at around 10 AM and we had to wait for one hour for the gate to open.

We were 4 people and we thought of exploring WL with dry rides. As soon as we reached the 1st ride Maverick, I was vexed. I did not courage to ride because I could see people screaming, shouting, making all sort weird faces. Needless to say that I am scared of rides. My two friends went to enjoy the ride and one of them was badly humped after the ride.  We kept on exploring the rides and finally I chose to enjoy one ride among all rides named Drop Zone thinking that let my friends not tease me at the end of the day of not riding any rides. In this ride, one is dropped from height of around 25 meters freely many times continuously. My goodness, the ride really took my breath away.

After dry rides we decided to see water rides. It was real fun. We enjoyed water slides (here also I was a bit apprehensive about it but somehow I courage and went ahead), pool play, the artificial waves and the rain dance. After viewing almost everything we packed back and returned home at around 8:30 PM. All in all, it was a great Sunday. Hope to enjoy my weekends with such fun.

Mar. 11th, 2009 10:32 pm Why does it happen?

Why does it happen that when you forget to do carry something with you and later when you need that thing the most, that thing is not there with you? Today something similar happened with me.

Usually I carry bike’s papers with me and today while returning from my friend’s place, I was caught by the cop. I somehow tried to escape as others do but could not as the cop came in front of my bike and I had to stop. I was asked the papers of bike and license. Fortunately, my license was with me but unfortunately, bike papers were at home. As expected the cop asked me to pay x amount of fine but I said that I cannot as I do not have so much money. He said to pay him 50 percent of x amount and he would let me go. I again said that I cannot and later after little negotiations I had to pay him 15 percent of x amount. I was feeling so sorry for the incident. I always carry all papers and today by mistake I forgot and had to pay fine for that. Pichhhh!!!

Feb. 25th, 2009 03:39 pm Reactions

I reached bangalore pretty early i.e. 6:30 AM after attending one of my friend's marriage. Really it was "big fat jain wedding". I was travelling in auto from station to my home and something stuck in my mind. I thought, why don't I disturb my friends sleep in bangalore on sunday early morning. I started calling my friends one by one and here are the reactions:
S - U reached bangalore (Of course I reached dumbo, that's why I am calling you).
H - Please yar, let me sleep. (hehehehe... I am disturbing your early morning sunday sleep).
V - Welcome back dear (So sweet, thanks :) ).
R - A**H***, let me sleep (Grahhhhh).
N - What the heck !!! (:P, I love irritating you).

After this, I thought it is enough now else people is gonna beat me when they would meet me. But believe me, it was real fun. Try it once.

Feb. 7th, 2009 01:29 am Work Experience for B-Schools

Rather I should say that yesterday  (as it's already mid night), :P I went to attend one of the seminars conducted by many B schools of UK. I went there with one of my friends. One of the volunteer over there gave me list of universities who were participating. I ticked down few universities which I heard were good. The moment I approached them and asked about the program I want to take up, the first question which was shoot at me was "How many years of work experience do I have"? My number of work experience was par low for the entry requirement.
I was wondering, none of B schools in India ask this criteria of work experience. So, I was very depressed and at the same time was thinking that better I should gain some more experience before applying for my program.

Do, Indian B-Schools should also hold the criteria of work-exp???

Feb. 5th, 2009 11:56 pm Celebration

Today there were many reasons to celebrate:

1. Today I completed 2 years in the same organization. Congratulation mails from all the people who joined with me flooded my mail box. One of my very good friend 'H' joined some days before me when came to know about this told me that he is older thna me. Though he meant that he is older to me in this organisation but the way he said made me laugh.
2. Another my good friend 'N' returned from home who brought loads of sweets.
3. It's just happened that today my team in office celebrated two of our teammates b'day and we got cake.

So, it was a sugary day for me. But in vain, I could not leave office early today as I had to attend one conference call at 9PM to 10PM. But still, I am happy that it was a groovy day for me. Cheers!!!

Jan. 1st, 2009 07:31 pm Skandagiri - A nightmare NIGHT TREK

Recently went to Kalavaarahalli Betta better known as Skandagiri. It took me sometime to digest the name - Kalavaarahalli Betta.
When I heard of the idea this night trek i got goose bumps. I have done trekking a lot but never did night trekking.
A group of 14 people of course including me :P started at 3 AM, climbing the hill of 7 kms, with bag packs, a torch in one hand and with heart out in another. The way ants walk in a line without distortion, we also walked the same way with helping each other in climbing. I was little scared and but excited too.

We reached hill top at around 5:30 AM. It was nerve wrecking cold and windy over there made me freeze. But the excitement of seeing the Sun rise made me survive there. The sun rose around 6:30 AM

Believe me, I had not seen such a beautiful morning in my life.
After having breakfast carried along with us and listening to guitar from one of the guitarist among us, we were back to down hill at 10 AM.
Really, it was an enthralling trek for me.

Dec. 21st, 2008 07:28 pm Free Food at Gurudwara

I wonder when people say that they are doing nothing on weekends, simply sitting at home and doing time pass.
I hate sitting at home on weekends. Today went to morning show movie named "Yes Man", was cursing my friend V for booking early morning tickets. Wait a minute, actually should thank him for showing movie in Inox theater in 100 bucks. The movie is really good.
Planned to go to Gurudwara, the place of God for Punjabis. I was surprised to see that you are not allowed to go to Gurudwara with bare head, means you should put some cloth on your head before entering. After pooja my friends decided to do "SEWA" means putting helping hand in kitchen for free food being served to people that this is called "LANGAR". It was amazing to see crowd helping each other in kitchen without say. We decided to pick the work of cooking chapatis. It was amazing experience. After the food was cooked. People sat in the hall and enjoyed the delicious food. The food was really groovy.
I really thank my friend V and M for such a beautiful sunday. :)

Dec. 18th, 2008 10:20 pm WORRYWART or WORRYFREE

Today I attended one of the Toastmaster meetings. One of the speaker spoke about WORRYWART. The topic left me thinking whole evening about the same. The speaker told that about 40% people fall into the category of WORRY-ABOUT. At one moment I thought that I also fall into this class.
I conceive unnecessarily about many things and waste my time doing nothing about it. Later I decided that I must change my attitude. I should now be a chilled out person. That doesn't mean that I will not worry and be a hassle free person. If I am thinking something, I better do something about it or stop thinking and LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. :)

Dec. 1st, 2008 09:13 pm Terrorist - Tourist

Recent mayhem in Mumbai for about 62 hours had shaken the whole world. The terrorist identified themselves as Malasyian students and tourist and aged between 18-23 years showed the blood bath to whole world. Wonder where the future of world lies. :-/
People everywhere are saying that "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".  Something needs to be done.  Are we so vulnerable that anyone can come in and play with the lives of people?
IS our government doing something about it? The other day was watching TV and saw that the NSG forces coming to designed place in the local bus i.e. BEST bus of Mumbai. Is this the way our government provides services to NSG force?
There should be done something before Indians loose their faith in the government of India.
